Stretford Town Centre Update

  • Council Preparing more detailed public realm improvement works for consultation in early 2019
  • Continuing to pursue site acquisition of Essoldo block
  • Expressions of interest for future development to be sought shortly
  • Continuing to liaise with Mall

The Council has reviewed all comments received following the engagement session on 2nd October. These are being used to inform initial design works for the next phase of public realm improvement works, focused on Edge Lane and a stretch of the A56, and the preparation of more detailed proposals for the Lacy Street site.

The Council is continuing to pursue site acquisition/CPO for the Essoldo and adjoining units on Edge Lane; expressions of interest for the future development of this area will be sought shortly. It is the intention to engage further with the local community in early 2019 around emerging options for these important sites in Stretford Town Centre.

The Council is continuing to liaise with the owners of Stretford Mall regarding future development on the site currently being cleared but no firm proposals are available at this stage.
