Road Closures galore, but good news for Lostock Park

Roadworks Round-up

Centenary Way, Trafford Park, will be closed Southbound from Monday 3 July for five days.
The northbound carriageway will be closed on 5 July only. The closures, in order to do resurfacing works, will be from 9.15am to 5pm.
Diversions will be signposted.
Parkway in Trafford Park will be closed southbound from Parkway Circle to Barton Dock Road from Tuesday 20 June for bridge waterproofing works. It’s anticipated the closure will be for three weeks.
Overnight closures of Barton Dock Road in Trafford Park have taken effect to carry out bridgeworks.
The closures are eastbound at Parkway from 10pm to 5am.
A diversion is in place. It’s anticipated the closure will be in place for three weeks.
Please be aware Village Way in Trafford Park will be closed overnight from 10pm on Saturday 30 June to 6am Sunday 1 July between Parkway Circle and Fifth Avenue. This is to enable repairs to manhole covers and frames in the carriageway.
Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
As part of the ongoing improvement work in Stretford, one westbound lane of Kingsway will close from June 5.
This will result in one lane of Edge Lane closing at the junction of the A56.
All bus stops on Kingsway westbound will remain open while the work is taking place.

Clearly this is a lot of road closures at the same time that are inevitably going to cause delays to some journey times. The work is much needed, particularly the surface work on Parkway that people have been calling for. The three Lostock and Barton Councillors continue to monitor the situation.

Good news for Lostock Park

Lostock Park in Stretford is set to undergo a transformation worth almost £110,000. The cash injection will see the arrival of a beginners’ skate area, new gym equipment and a woodland trail.

A joint project between The Veolia Environmental Trust, The Friends of Lostock Park and The One Trafford Partnership (OTP), the investment will bring an outdoor gym comprised of fifteen stations, a novice skate area that complements the park’s already-existing bowl which is more suited to experienced skaters, and a new woodland walking and running trail.
